ABOUT ME
Hi, I'm Sammie! I'm from Spring Grove, a small town in Northern Illinois. I graduated from Richmond Burton Community High School in Richmond, Illinois at the end of May 2021. I just started my freshman year at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where I will be studying Human Nutrition and Behavioral Neuroscience Psychology.
WHY NUTRITION?
I became interested in Nutrition back in June 2020 when I started experiencing stomach and nutritional issues myself. It became a challenge to eat and to find foods that sat with my stomach okay. This lead to my interest in wanting to understanding why food reacted with my stomach the way it did. Due to the constant stomach pain I was experiencing, I developed food anxiety, a fear to eat and try new foods. This pushed me to pusure a dual major in Psychology, as I wanted to understand the science behind the anxiety and why it formed.
